Hikes to be considered (i.e. attempted)

I have now started assembling some ideas around the hiking portion of my excursion. Since my departure is less then two weeks away now, it's time to get busy planning the off-bike activities....mainly the hiking.

Hike #1
For my first hike...it looks as though it should be the Empire Mine State Historic Park in Grass Valley via the Hardrock Trail and Osborn Loop. Lots of historic relevance and very interesting place.  Looks like a pretty easy first hike for the trip. Should be a fun one.

Hike #2
My second hike will likely consist of this little 5.8 miler - Castle Peak. It's considered one of the easiest peaks (9100') to hike in the Tahoe range. My hope is to get an early start and move at a brisk pace to hopefully complete the hike in under 4 hours.

Hike #3
For my 3rd, I was considering taking a trek up to Angira Lake via Fallen Leaf Lake. It's marked as a "challenging uphill 3.9 er" that affords one views of Fallen Leaf and Tahoe lakes in the distance as one ascends the slope.
